The
CO Bar Ranch, the men and women who work it,
and the Babbitt family are highly honored to
be the subjects of this beautiful and interesting
book. We are particularly pleased that others
will have the opportunity to see and enjoy the
magnificent western art of Bill Owen.

Break
of Dawn
1980 oil 20 x 30 inches

The
many major awards he has received attest to his
excellence as an artist, as do the number of
his oils that are included in fine private collections,
museums and galleries across the country. Owen
portrays the ranch with both sensitivity and
accuracy. Unlike many artists who paint from
photographs or occasional visits, Owen has periodically
been a working cowboy with the CO Bar.
His
willingness to work and his talents on horseback
have earned him the respect of the regular hands.
Our ranch is a part of Bill Owen in a most fundamental
sense.
